Summer Sizzlers Programme 2021

Wow what a summer!

After missing a year due to Covid we were so excited to get back up and running our favourite activities through August. We had so much fun at Chester zoo learning about ecosystems, rock climbing, bowling, visiting Crosby lakeside for water-sports and more.

As you can see from our pictures we had such a fun time. Bring on next summer!

WACA Sports

How fab does this set up look for the WACA Sports session last Friday night?!
The weather was amazing and everyone had a great time playing Netball, Volleyball and Basketball focusing on co-ordination and movement 🏀🙌
We’ll soon be releasing the dates for our August sessions so there will be more opportunity to book on 😁

Pandemic Art Project

We are so impressed with the art work that our group came up with and put together for our Pandemic Art Project. This project was all about speaking to young people and hearing their experiences of this past year.

We started with a whiteboard full of notes and ideas and then grouped them together to make 6 pieces of art. The young people decided between them who would work on each piece and supported one another if they got stuck for ideas or needed help to design their piece.

This is the finished result and we are so proud of all the hard work that went in to this project and it has been really valuable to hear how young people have experienced this past year.

Zoom Decopatch Workshop

Today was our first Zoom Decopatch Workshop and it was amazing! So relaxing and immersive and a great opportunity to try something new and chat to one another too!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came this morning! We had the most wonderful time and are so grateful you were able to be there. And another HUGE thank you to Zulay for running the session, showing us this lovely craft and talking to us about the importance of self care and how relaxing crafts can be.

Afternoon Tea Boxes

We have been trying to find ways to give local people a boost and recently we delivered 40 Afternoon Tea boxes to our lunch club members. We have really missed all our groups here at the centre and wanted to do something special for everyone. We’re lucky enough to say that we’ll have more of these boxes coming soon too!

These boxes were made extra special by the amazing and beautiful Spring cards from the children at Kings Meadow Primary School.

Thank you

We would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported us this year.

Thank you to the wonderful organisations who we work in partnership with for your help and guidance, the work that you all do is amazing!

A huge thanks goes to our incredible staff and volunteer team including our amazing Trustees who helped to shop, pack and deliver information packs, food parcels, activity parcels for older people and activity parcels for young people. The feedback from this support has been overwhelming and it has been so wonderful to hear the boost that it has given people.
We are so grateful to be based in such a fantastic, supportive community and we look forward to working with you all again in 2021. We are closed from 23 December 2020 and will be back on 4 January 2021.
We hope you have a lovely break, stay safe and we wish you good health and happiness for the New Year.
