February Afternoon Lunch

It has been such a lovely afternoon with lots of our members joining us for afternoon lunch today. A huge thank you to our staff and volunteers who do so much to support our lunches πŸ‘
We served carrot and sweet potato soup, jacket potatoes with various toppings and then we served scones with jam and cream and a fresh fruit salad 🀀
It’s always a busy day but so lovely for us to hear everyone laughing and chatting together and enjoying themselves 😊

Craft Group

We have our lovely Craft Group in this morning and we wanted to share some photos of what they’re all working on.
Our members bring their own materials each week and use the time and space to socialise with one another whilst continuing with their projects β˜•

Afternoon Lunch

It is absolutely lovely to be back after the Christmas period, today we held our first afternoon lunch of the year for local older people. It was so lovely to see so many people back in the centreΒ Β πŸ˜ƒ

We served leek and potato soup topped with buttered leeks, cottage pie with garden peas and mixed berry crumble with custard πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‹
Just what was needed on this cold day ☺

WACA Sports

How fab does this set up look for the WACA Sports session last Friday night?!
The weather was amazing and everyone had a great time playing Netball, Volleyball and Basketball focusing on co-ordination and movement πŸ€πŸ™Œ
We’ll soon be releasing the dates for our August sessions so there will be more opportunity to book on 😁

Pandemic Art Project

We are so impressed with the art work that our group came up with and put together for our Pandemic Art Project. This project was all about speaking to young people and hearing their experiences of this past year.

We started with a whiteboard full of notes and ideas and then grouped them together to make 6 pieces of art. The young people decided between them who would work on each piece and supported one another if they got stuck for ideas or needed help to design their piece.

This is the finished result and we are so proud of all the hard work that went in to this project and it has been really valuable to hear how young people have experienced this past year.

Zoom Decopatch Workshop

Today was our first Zoom Decopatch Workshop and it was amazing! So relaxing and immersive and a great opportunity to try something new and chat to one another too!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came this morning! We had the most wonderful time and are so grateful you were able to be there. And another HUGE thank you to Zulay for running the session, showing us this lovely craft and talking to us about the importance of self care and how relaxing crafts can be.
