August afternoon lunch club

We love getting together for our afternoon lunch club. It’s always nice to see everyone chatting and enjoying a meal together 🥰
We must have cooked up something delicious because we have no leftovers in the fridge this month!
We served a choice of:
Leek and Potato soup or Creamy Chicken and Leek bake
Followed by Homemade Lemon Drizzle Cake or Meringue with strawberries and ice cream 🍓🍋🍰🍨

Youth Chocolate Whirled session

A BIG thank you to Chocolate Whirled for hosting us today! Everyone had an absolutely incredible time learning about where chocolate comes from and most importantly, tasting and making their own to take home!
Thank you for feeding 12 young people and our staff full of chocolate, we’re sure it’ll keep their energy levels up for the rest of the day 😆
We cannot wait to come back for our second session later this month and can’t recommend Chocolate Whirled enough! What an incredible experience that we’re sure our young people won’t be forgetting in a hurry 🍫🍫🍫

Thank you One Stop!

A huge thank you to Eunice and everyone who donates food at One Stop 🙌🥰 Our cupboard has been stocked ❤️
We have some Aptamil growing up milk and please ask that you only take one tub per family. When visiting the cupboard – please only take what you need – we want to make sure there’s enough to go around.

Woodvale Community Cupboard

Hi all,
We are lucky to be working with FareShare who are helping to reduce food waste. This means, when we can, we are able to pick up food donations. We also receive food donations from local people, businesses and other voluntary organisations throughout the year.
We want to make sure that you have access to this food and therefore we have installed a community food cupboard outside the community centre.
It is back to back with our noticeboard on the grass and we have created shelves for various purposes (use by food, best before dates, long life etc.)
At the moment it isn’t fully up and running but there are some pancakes in there if you would like to come by and pick some up. Please help yourselves.
Please note the following:
Use by food: After the use-by date, don’t eat, cook or freeze your food. The food could be unsafe to eat or drink, even if it has been stored correctly and looks and smells fine.
Best Before: The best before date, sometimes shown as BBE (best before end), is about quality and not safety. The food will be safe to eat after this date but may not be at its best. Its flavour and texture might not be as good.
Please always check the dates on food in the cupboard, only take what you need and speak to a member of staff if you wish to donate to it.
We will always post to Facebook when the cupboard has been stocked.
